Holistic Journaling Instructor

Jill's reflections on journaling

"Journaling is without a doubt unconditional life-support. It's one of the most rewarding and enlightening undertakings anyone can embark upon. But, the importance of journal writing goes far beyond what it can do for us as individuals...

For example, personal journaling provides a real history of our times. Imagine if Anne Frank hadn't journaled! But, most key to why I'm honored and driven to share and teach journal writing is that I believe it is truly a vehicle and tool for social change.

Journaling unquestionably helps us become more peaceful within ourselves - more comfortable in our own skin. And, as Kay (Kathleen Adams) once said to me, 'When people feel peaceful in their souls, they are less likely to turn to violence and war'. In addition to Kay's wisdom and insight, I strongly believe that when we are centered & filled up within, it is much easier for us to give of ourselves to others and to our community.

We are really one people of one world; ultimately by being a support to us as individuals, journaling can help us realize this and help us to provide love, understanding, and support to one another."

Jill Boileau, the only certified Journal to the Self instructor in Quebec, is an award-winning writer who focused her career in Communications for over 25 years.

Jill recently retired from the business world to (finally!) align her lifework with her true spirit and soul. She now finds joy and fulfillment focusing on her art--and in sharing the magic of journal writing. Having kept them since the age of thirteen, journals have been Jill's trusted companion through relationships, travels, triumphs, transitions, disappointments, and times of loss & joy.

Jill was trained and certified as a Journal to the Self instructor by the renowned author and pioneering leader of journal therapy, Kathleen (Kay) Adams, LPC. (See lovely Kay here to the right!) Jill was honoured to join Kathleen's worldwide team of certified Journal To Self  instructors to help awaken people to journal writing as "the new yogaâ„¢.

Jill has been happily married for 33 years (yes, she married young!) and has two (amazing!) daughters. She has traveled extensively to feed her appetite for exploration. She enjoys: all creative arts, drinking in music, wandering through museums, languishing in bookstores, tasting new cuisines (in restaurants and in her kitchen), and spending loads of time with family and friends.

MY ART

For me, an artwork starts with a message, an idea – for example home, good luck, hope, etc - that gradually takes shape on the canvas. The image is guided by the initial concept and intuition while the colors always play an important role in the transmission of the message.

Man follows its quest in search of happiness and harmony but is often taken back by social and personal problems, spiritual void and everyday stress. I want to bring a bit of happiness, tranquility and magic into the lives of others.
